Claude Moore Scholar
As of the spring 2019 semester, Lexi is preparing for a healthcare career at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, graduating in May. Her major is Radiation Sciences, with a concentration in Radiography and a sub-specialization in Computerized Tomography (CT) scanning. During her Junior and Senior years in high school, Lexi became a Claude Moore Scholar in the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation’s Healthcare Education Program. Through the Program, she took classes in Introduction to Medical Sciences and Introduction to Radiology, and benefitted from real world clinical experience with professional radiology technicians and nurse specialists. She also gained valuable insights into resume building and job interviewing skills. Lexi is immensely grateful for the opportunities she enjoyed as a Claude Moore Scholar, and counts the experience as her best academic decision.Watch Video
Claude Moore Scholar
Jeff Rivera is a Senior at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, majoring in Radiation Sciences and graduating in May 2019. Jeff’s concentration within his major is Radiography, with a sub-specialization in Cardiac Catheterization for heart imaging. As a Claude Moore Scholar in the Foundation’s Healthcare Education Program, Jeff took classes in Introduction to Medical Sciences and Introduction to Radiology during his Junior and Senior years in high school. He gained broad knowledge in the classroom, as well as invaluable, real world clinical experience in professional Radiology settings. Jeff credits his decision to become a Claude Moore Scholar for cementing his desire to enter the field of healthcare.Watch Video
